Leadership Team Values...

Posted By: Pastor Jeff @ Sep 7 2006, 02:47 PM
Let's face it, the world is changing so fast that at times it makes your head spin. Add to this the fact that we live in a consumer driven society where the customer always gets what they want (supposedly), the mistakes that the church has made in the past (little things like the crusades, scandals, selfishness and materialism), and the growing skepticism that society has toward anyone who claims to know anything about God, and church becomes a pretty complicated endeavor.

As a result of this, our Leadership Team felt that we needed to identify our own values. We wanted something solid on which to make our decisions - some anchors that keep us grounded but that give us freedom to respond to the rapidly changing world around us. We entered a process of prayer and discussion and came up with what we really sensed to be God's leading for us as a Leadership Team. We'd love for you to take a look at what we have. I posted the info in the document attached below. Take a look at it and I think you'll get a sense of the ideas we are holding to be the most important. And remember, this is a work in progress. We'd love your insight and feedback.

Welcome to the new GBC Online

Posted By: Terry Cameron @ Dec 14 2005, 12:25 AM
Dear GBC,

We have updated and upgraded! I hope you will find the website much more helpful and easier to visit.

Basically, I have encased the most important part of the website, the forum, inside a container that allows for easy updates and customization.

This new website will allow Pastor Jeff to post his sermon notes and then the Media Team can include the sermon audio right with the notes! The other big feature is the Calendar. All church events will be added to the calendar section, thus keeping everyone informed of what is happening.

And don't forget, the forum is the perfect place to ask questions about upcoming events or hold a discussion on anything that concerns the church.

Please sign-up for a website account (using your first and last name) and join in! I can see so many opportunities for this powerful tool and I hope you all will embrace it.

Thanks

About GBC

Welcome to gbchope.com! - the online presence of Grace Baptist Church in Hope, British Columbia, Canada.

It's our desire to provide you and your family with an online resource to assist you in taking one step closer to Jesus Christ. There's so much about Grace Baptist Church that we could tell you, but it would take way too much typing on our part and reading on your part to cover it all. What we've done is compiled information that we figure people would want to know about us. If you have more questions please contact us.

OUR HISTORY
Grace [Fellowship] Baptist Church had its beginnings in a Missionary effort sponsored by the West Coast Children's Mission. In the Spring of 1946, Peter and Susie Teichroeb came to Hope to work with children. As the Word of God was faithfully preached, the work expanded into a thriving congregation which was formally recognized in 1950 as the Wallace Street Baptist Church. As the church continued to grow, the need for more space became apparent. This led to the construction of a new building on 3rd ave, where, in 1958, Grace Baptist Church was dedicated. GBC has remained at 949 3rd Ave, Hope, BC, Canada, where it continues in its commitment to the spreading of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

OUR MISSION
To help people take one step closer to Jesus Christ.

OUR CORE VALUES
The absolute truth and relevance of Scripture. The need for people to Worship God, Build Up other believers, and Share The Truth of Jesus Christ. The reality that Every Christian Has A God-Given Ministry to fulfill.

OUR DENOMINATIONAL AFFILIATION
Grace Baptist Church is a member of the Fellowship of Evangelical Baptist Churches in Canada. For more information about the FEBC, please visit http://www.fellowship.ca
